The garage

The interactive garage, enjoy the memories of this temple of fun.

For more than ten years, every New Year’s Eve had the same destination: a garage in Ponferrada.

There were no tickets, no guest lists, no wristbands.
Just one unwritten rule: everyone brought their own… and shared everything: bottles, straws, and above all, the desire to start the year as if the world were theirs.

That wasn’t a party.
It was a ritual.

There were people who came every year, from all over…
and others who showed up without anyone really knowing who they were.
But it didn’t matter, because in that garage, for a few hours, everyone belonged.

Sometimes the police would come by.
They’d look around, ask questions… but they couldn’t kick us out.
And we’d just keep going, as if nothing was wrong, as if there were rules to it.

The neighbors already knew.
“They didn’t complain.”
On the contrary… some would come down, have a drink, and stay for a while.
As if they also understood that it wasn’t just noise.
It was something more.

The faces were the same, the laughter too.
And although each year was different, there was one thing that never changed: the feeling that this moment would last forever.

But not.

Then COVID arrived.
And what neither exhaustion, nor time, nor routine could break… was suddenly extinguished.

No goodbyes.
No last song.
Without knowing that it had been the last time.

And now, when New Year’s Eve arrives, it’s not the same anymore.

Every now and then you still hear:
“Hey… are you still having the garage party this year?”

But I don’t know…
it’s like we’ve grown up.
Like, without realizing it, we’ve stopped going out…
even on New Year’s Eve.

Because what remains… is not the party.

It’s a reminder of what we were like in there.
