Well, well, today we have to talk about Midnight Walkers, they’ve released a music video directed by Camilo Salom, a simple thing starring Helena Bio and the Mallorcan band. Today we spoke with Manuel Ramos, a member of Midnight Walkers.
– Tell us a little about the band, how the idea for Midnight Walkers came about.
Midnight Walkers is a musical project of four friends who are looking for a unique sound, with many influences from international artists and producers, and with the aim of recognizing ourselves in our own unique sound. Toni, Ricardo and I have been friends since school and we have always had the same musical influences. From the beginning we wanted to make music. Over time, VicSan joined us, and now the project is in a great place.
– I don’t know if it’s a love story, or a drug addict looking for his last fix in the wee hours of the morning, tell me a little about the meaning behind this great song, Dance.
Many times love stories are like those of a drug addict looking for a fix hahahaha. “Dance” is a track in which we wanted to highlight club culture, nu-disco and the underground universe in which we have always moved. The song is full of double meanings that the retro atmosphere highlights even more. We wanted to release it as a single so we could accompany it with a video that would highlight this image; working with Camilo Salom and Helena Bio was very easy and we love the result.
– When I think of a song, I often imagine it in a specific place; a nightclub, in the car, in the shower… Where would you like to listen to Dance music?
We hear “Dance” as a club song, so where we would love to hear it is in clubs and of course from on stage. It’s also true that we often make songs thinking about playing them at full volume in the car; we have a lot of synthwave influence that lends itself to that.
– I love the suit and sunglasses style, that’s how you present yourselves at concerts, do you ever take them off or do you not want the fans to see your pupils?
It’s part of the mystery… We feel much more identified with the latest songs and with what’s to come (we’ll release a new album after summer) and we want to accompany the music with matching styles that define us and our music. The Midnight Walkers universe.
– What does the near future hold for Midnight Walkers? Do we have new music videos or upcoming concerts?
Next week, on Saturday, April 4th, we will be playing at Es Gremi. Who knows, maybe we’ll come up with something cool with “Dance”. Then we’ll get back to work to finish everything in preparation for after the summer. With the release of the new album, we will completely revamp our live show, so we will prepare a special presentation and go back out to play.
Meanwhile, as a closing to what has been our previous album “Outside The Club” we will also release an EP with 4 remixes of that album, pure electronica.
